Image Quality Labs Announces New Hand Tremor Simulator

Research Triangle Park, N.C. – Image Quality Labs announces the release of its Hand Tremor Simulator, a two-axis vibration system built for testing the effects of shake on the imaging systems of mobile and tablet devices, as well as their ability to compensate for this type of motion.

“The Hand Tremor Simulator is the most cost-effective solution for verifying image stabilization algorithms and performance,” says Jason Cope, President of Image Quality Labs, Inc. “Our system provides the highest level of precision, ease of use, and is essential equipment for any imaging test lab.”

The Hand Tremor Simulator’s advanced system uses linear voice coil motors, high precision laser displacement sensors, zero-backlash spherical rolling joints, and custom motion control software to subject the device under test to various highly accurate motion profiles. Heavy-duty base and frames allow the system to be mounted to a table or optional stand. A flexible mounting system allows most smartphones and tablets to be tested in the hand tremor simulator.

The Hand Tremor Simulator can be configured to operate in both domestic and global markets and is controlled with a windows based PC. The user interface allows configuration of the system’s motion control in three different modes: manual control, sine waves, and arbitrary waveforms.
