Image Quality Labs Announces New Flash Test System

Research Triangle Park, N.C. – Image Quality Labs announced today that it has developed a new product for camera flash system testing. The Flash Test System (FTS) will allow users to precisely measure the intensity and uniformity of constant “torch” and flash pulses over a set period of time. The hardware and software are designed to allow assessment of mobile device flash systems, improving overall performance and efficiency of the camera flash design.

“Our Flash Test System offers much greater flexibility for setup than was previous seen, and dramatically broadens the range of flash systems able to be tested,” said Jason Cope, President of Image Quality Labs, Inc. “What we’ve created is the most flexible and cost effective flash test system available.”

The base system features 9 calibrated detectors, which can be setup in an array using a camera system viewfinder, allowing for optimal placement in the camera field of view. The number of detectors can be expanded, if desired, to offer more coverage area in the image plane at varying distances and can be used across other applications. The detectors use high quality photopic correction filters matched to the CIE response, and sensors with 8 decades of light sensitivity, allowing for a measurement range of 0.1 lux to 950,000 lux.

The Flash Test System can be configured to operate in both domestic and global markets and is controlled with a windows based PC. More information about this product can be found on the company website or by following this link.
